I would like to convert my Mak 9x18 to .38ACP.
My indoor range is running out of it and one can only use their stuff.
I went to Makarov.com and read the info about the barrel but cannot get any about the magazine the ejector etc etc etc.
Can one use the 9x18 mag for .38acp rounds does one have to change the ejector ,firing pin.
Any one out there know.

Several companies used to manufacture these conversion barrels for Makarovs & PA-'s, but I have not seen one for sale in several years. They were once available in stock, ported, and threaded versions, but none are available now anywhere I know of.
I did this conversion on my East German STASSI Mak, and it works GREAT with the threaded version I used. The barrel is the only part requiring changing; ejector, firing pin, and magazines from the original Makarov function as flawlessly with .380ACP-9mm Kurz as they have with 9mm Makarov.

P.S: I also load my own 9mm Makarov ammo for both pistols, as well as .380ACP/9mmKurz for both, and my Walther PPK/S, also equipped with a threaded barrel.
If anyone has trouble finding ammo, maybe one should invest in reloading gear, instead!
