What about the snatching away of the church? You are talking about the second coming here. You are also messed up in a little legalism here. There is nothing wrong with shorts or women working or birth control. Morally the world has not changed. But that state of morality is internal not external as you are describing it. Are you praying for these so-called immoral people you are seeing or are you just condemning them based on outward appearance. God is still in control and He always has been. He knows the state of the world but He knows even better the state of all human hearts toward Him. When He returns the first time He will take His church away then 7 years later will come to destroy and rebuild the world. 1000 year perfect reign and judgment. That's how I see it.

Yes, I cannot wait. Your question though is coming across as being kind of bitter toward life. I know that this world is getting worse, but there are alot of things that are good about it. There are wonderful Christians that love each other and reach out to the hurting. Have you been struggling lately with things that are not bringing you joy? I understand, I have been there before and wanted God to just come and get it over with already! Anyway, I hope that if you are discouraged that He will bring you hope and alot of joy for the future. You might as well be happy while waiting. lol

Not me, I am too busy worrying about which short shorts I am going to wear, and which low cut see threw blouse will go best with them. I also need to worry everyday that I take my birth control so that I do not have to have another abortion, and how I can control my man. Life is very complicated, and there are so many things to consider and worry about I don't find time to worry about jesus coming back on a white horse spitting fire and waving a sword dripping with blood. Before he ever got to me he would probably been zapped by one of our new modern weapons.

Several things here one things were not so good in the 1950s. Second we should be acting as if Jesus could return at any moment. If we want to clean up the mess the world is in we should be busy cleaning up the mess each of our lives are in not wait for God to take care of it for us by eliminating those people are responsible for the wrongs in the world. We are responsible for it we should take the responsibilty to clean it up before He returns.

I am, but until then, I'm also enjoying life, and so should you. So when you see what you perceive to be wrong with the world around you, ask yourself what you can do to make things better.
And by what standards were the 50s better? What's wrong with women who run homes, or birth control? You shouldn't assume that proponents of these views are "unbelievers" or that opponents of these view are.

Sick of Life,
Yes, I can't wait for Jesus to come back, but I'm not certain that you see the part about Moses wanting his name removed from the book of life it would mean that others could be saved, or Paul wishing for the same thing if it meant others could go (Romans 9:1-5).
Yes, there is a lot of sin in the world. Always has been, even in the 50s. It is my understanding that their children deserted the church because they realized that their parents weren't really believers -- church was just the social ladder in the 50s -- so they believed it to be hypocritical and left, and we see, as in Lord of the Flies, how bad it can get to be when so few believe in God. Right now, society is emulating the book extremely well.
But, aren't we supposed to cry for them? Not want "revenge" -- that's the world's way, that's Satan's way. Jesus CRIED over Jerusalem, saying, "If you, only you knew the time of my coming. I would have gathered you as a hen gathers her chickens." (Matthew 23:37-39) Jesus would be mourning for the world -- not wishing it to hell. Jesus would be trying through every rejection to save it. On the cross with people lashing out at Him, those who took every hair of His beard out; those who beat Him with whips one short of death, those who put a crown of thorns on His head, those who blindfolded Him and kept hitting Him over and over -- to them He said ON THE CROSS: Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." I think that this is the attitude we should have.
I can't WAIT until Jesus comes again because it will be GLORIOUS in heaven, but I want others to enjoy it with me. I hope you can find it in your heart to want the same thing!!

well, him coming is a great and marvelous thing to happen and yes I can't wait. But the thing is we can't do that. Just sitting and waiting won't help us with the purpose of us waiting for him. We can't get lazy and also say that we will be risen up at the last day. Endure to the end and ye shall have eternal life.

It's very sad to me that you see this beautiful planet as a hellscape.
When Jesus became human, he took on a physical form in addition to his spiritual form. When he did that, he effectively blessed all matter -- atoms, molecules, flesh and blood, everything -- and made it a channel of God's grace.
Things are not getting worse and worse. If you see movies and women wearing short pants as a sign that there's sin in the world, then again -- I truly do feel sad for you and will keep you in my prayers.
Things weren't better back in the 50s -- just more repressed. Your name says it all, I'm afraid -- being sick of life and unable to find beauty in this world God made is surely a sign of sickness and sin.

IIslamic Scholars Consider Prophet Jesus' (pbuh) Coming as a Matter of Aqidah (Faith
In verse 157 of the Surat an-Nisa', God commands, "...They did not kill him and they did not crucify him but it was made to seem so to them...." This verse, together with many others, reveal that Prophet Jesus (pbuh) is alive in God's sight and indicates that he will come to Earth for a second time. Reaching to consensus on this issue, Islamic scholars state that advocating a contrary suggestion is by no means possible
And the prophet Mohammed PBUH said:"It [the Day of Judgment] will not come until you see ten signs," and [in this connection] he mentioned the smoke, the Dajjal, the Beast, the rising of the Sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary… (Sahih Muslim)
By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary [Jesus] will shortly descend amongst you people as a just ruler. (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Jesus son of Mary would then descend and their [Muslims'] commander will invite him to come and lead them in prayer, but he would say: No, some amongst you are commanders over some [amongst you]. This is the honor from God for this Ummah [nation]. (Sahih Muslim)
How will you be when the some of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you and he will judge people by the Law of the Qur'an? (Sahih al-Bukhari)
In the Quran we find:
And We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him, and We bestowed on him the Gospel wherein is guidance and a light, confirming that which was (revealed) before it in the Torah a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil).

Surely this is a joke?? Back to the 50's? Great times if you were a white man. Not so great for anyone else. There are positive and negative things about every age. As for the verse you quote, it's from Revelation, which was written as an allegory and not meant to be literal.
