Ok you know when you get a mosquito bite it itches and it gets bigger? Well does anyone what causes that?

The mosquito bite area gets bigger because the toxin injected starts to spread and involve a larger region.

could be an allergy to mosquito bites.. . ask your doctor for a topical cream or solution. i have an allergy with mosquito bites. i have the same symptoms and not only that it leaves a dark mark on the skin and it takes months to a year before it lightens... tough!!!

When you scratch your skin, it aggravates it, causing swelling. It really doesn't have much to do with the original bite. Even if there was nothing there, and you scratched your skin really hard, it would swell up a little. Histamine, as mentioned in one of the other answers, would only be involved if you were allergic to the bite.
