Has anyone flown with this airline and had any problems? I can fit into a theater chair but I don't know how the seats on a planes will be. I read that the width of the seats are 17 1/2 inches and that doesn't seems very big to me. Is there any "fluffy" passengers out there that had good experiences with this airline? I requested aisle seats but I noticed that they are window seats. I'm scared silly. I can't afford two tickets and the tickets I do have are non refundable.

I've flown with family on the larger size but never on Continental but remember no matter what airline you fly, when you are in economy, even the smallest people feel squished. If you are flying with someone you know/family then don't worry about it, I would hope they don't mind you squished next to them. Just raise the armrest inbetween you and your flying partner for more room if you feel it is too tight. Also, if you feel too confined in the window seat, ask the flight attendants to help you find an aisle seat, after all this will liken to the comfort of everyone. And lastly, if you are still scared/nervous, when you get to your boarding gate, talk to the attendants there about preboarding. Good luck!

Well my parents have the same problem, both my parents are a bit bigger than average, my dad is 6'3 my mom is 5'2, and both have troubles on the seating in continental. They fit just fine with 3/4 inch to spare but the leg room is just fitted for people with short legs.

We can't answer that until we know how overweight you are. I had flown Continental 6 years ago when I was 80 pounds overweight, and I was comfortable. I don't know if they made the seats smaller since then.

Get a measuring tape and measure the width of an armchair you feel comfortable in. That should reassure you. Mine was just under 18 inches.
