You don't have to, I sure don't. I can't get behind something/someone who is saying "believe what I say or I will hurt you" either.

Did you ask why should you believe in God?
Because you went on a rant about the bible.
The bible is not the only source regarding faith so do your homework.
Try stepping outside the box of your single dimension world.
Try cultivating good thoughts the universe (God) will respond because you will be open up to the idea that at any moment we can change and people, books, therapist whatever will come in to our lives. There is no such thing as coincidence.
Divine guidance is an opening up to the idea that there is a force ergo you allow the introduction of a different way to solve a problem. Faith is letting go and letting God.

Oh, some people got punished and/or killed because they did the things they were warned not to do. They were told not to do some things, they were warned what the consequences could be if they did these evil things, but they didn't listen. They did the wrong things anyway. They got what they were warned they would get. Was God supposed to reward them for doing the wrong things? It's Gods fault and not theirs right? Ever get a speeding ticket? You know what the speed limit is. You know that speeding is wrong, brakes the law, and carries a fine. If you are caught speeding will the cop congratulate you and shake your hand? Or, will he write you a ticket? You could try to give him some excuses but he might well tell you that you know what the speed limit is, there are speed limit signs posted all over the place, and you know that speeding carries a fine. He'll finish writing the ticket and hand you your copy. The cop isn't on an ego trip. He's just doing his job and enforcing the law. In the case you list above, God id the cop, they/we are the people. PS-God has paid the final, long lasting results of our sin (ticket) for us when He went to the cross to forgive us. It's up to us to accept His payment and love Him.

He is THE creator of the universe. Without rules chaos. You can see that today. His laws were for 'us' to obey, so that we could have reasonable order. We are the fools here that do not abide. He is perfect. God was unhappy that Satan's followers had seduced women and produced gebar, (giants), (like Goliath), Satan had sabotaged God's plans, that his son, Jesus, or God in human form could come through a pure line, so he destroyed all that was evil, in order to make way for Christ's birth. Sodom and Gomorrah was full of sin. They were not even worthy to receive his law. Read and study, get a Strong's concordance, and learn. It is not God's wish that all will perish, though many will. See that you do not, accept the Lord, and have everlasting life.

you miss the issue.
God says do not kill but Jesus also says that Revenge is a right given to him.
but we should worship God, because there is so much more to HIM than we can understand. Life happens because of Him. Jesus created this life for All of us to live and exist with righteousness. Without Him we have a complete wasteland.

Because there are other religions out there besides Christianity. You don't HAVE to believe a guy lived inside a whale for three days in order to accept God. They aren't the same thing.

If God desires your worship, then He will bring you to your knees...Despite the history of turmoil and sin, despite our lack of understanding, the Bible does say, "Every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess..." So if you don't do it now, then you will certainly be assured you will do it later. There isn't any way around Him...He will bring us to reconciliation or justice at some point.

You should worship whomever you want or no deity at all if that is your choice. Yes, there are lots of Bible contradictions and they do make for a heated debate sometimes. Even Christians will tell you that. As to God's "ego"...hey, He's GOD...what do you expect?

Well brother its like this.......
You belong to who you obey, if you choose to ignore Yahweh and his instructions on how to live then you belong to Satan and you deserve to be destroyed along with the rest of those who commit abominations.
It's righteous judgments for those who want to live without all of the diseases and die like those who are perishing right now due to the transgression of the Laws of Yahweh.
