I am a Christian and have been since my high school years(I am 29 now). It was a decision I made on my own, and at the time neither of my parents were believers(my mother is now).

I think we all have a void in our lives that needs to be filled, an emptiness that make us long for God. If you don't fill that void with Christ, you will fill it with something- we all follow a "god" whether or not we want to admit it. Some people fill that void with money, lust, and yes, even "atheism".

I was lost in life before I became a Christian, I was a product of original sin and my own human nature(the flesh). Only Christ can give you the freedom from the condemnation and death that we all face. Through His death and resurrection, He has taken the place for the death I deserve. So through Christ I am not conformed to this world, but am transformed by the constant renewing of my mind.(Romans 12:2)

First you need to ask yourself what kind of a Christine are you? Many people with religious backgrounds can claim that they are Christians but truly that's just a label for them. People today take advantage of Christianity and state that since I am a Christan I obligated to get all the privileges that true believers posses. Example the thought that every human who calls themselves a christian has a one way ticket to Heaven, that if i commit a crime or a sin all I have to do is apologize and I'm free and so on. I believe I am a Christan because I don't use the name of the lord in vain and I love him. I believe that God loved us so much that he sent down his only son to die for our sins. And the only reason that Jesus died for our sins is because he loves us just as much as God does. I try to fix my mistakes so I can be the person that Jesus wants me to be and I can't wait to stand next to him in heaven. So do you believe and cherish all that because if you do then you can call yourself a true follower.

He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. no one comes to the Father except through Me'...and i believe that! at a certain point in my life, after trying to 'have it all', after trying and failing miserably to be in control, with all the answers, i realized that my 'stuff' was weak, and i was going nowhere but downhill fast. and for those of you who constantly ask Christians if they studied other 'religions' before deciding-yes, i did. and what i found was that it wasn't 'religion' i needed-it was more basic-i needed to get closer to God-i needed to stop running from Him. and i sat down, read the words that His Son, Jesus Christ, spoke-i read His teachings, thought about His commandments, studied His life and His ministry, and prayed for answers-and what i found was a very simple faith. there is nothing very complicated about following Christ-He never set down rules about any complicated rituals or rote recited 'prayers'...He never set one person above another in importance to Him...i am a member of a southern baptist church. why? because i think that baptists have the answers? no-because i found a congregation where the people practice the love that Christ taught, where they believe in being a positive addition to the community, and practice loving their neighbors by helping whenever they can-

-sorry for the rambling-not trying to 'force my faith down anyone's throat', i'm just trying to answer as best i can-

1. I am christian because I love Christ; and that love will grow.
2. I realize the is a difference between scripture and Bible (a test(s)?); I go by scripture currently. It took a while as many others were going by the Bible during my God given life.

I am a christian because I believe the bible and I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that we are forgiven by him through him, not by good works. The bible says "for it is by grace you have been saved through faith and it is not of yourselves it is the gift of god!" And I totally believe that. And also Christ is in me. I feel his holy spirit when I am praying or reading the bible, its not just words on a piece of paper that make me believe, its the fact that I feel and know that Jesus is the ruler over all!

Hope that helped!

I believe in Christ because the eyewitness testimony of Jesus' life, teachings, ministry and miracles recorded in the gospels is convincing to me.

Read them for yourself and see if they are convincing to you

Short answer: What have I got to lose by following Christ? If I am wrong (I don;t believe that I am) - so what? No loss. If I am right - I have everything to gain.

I want to be able to have eternal life, and guidance throughout my life! Knowing that He's watching over me is a great comfort, and to know for a fact that if anything happens to me I'll still be safe with Him is also pretty nice (=

Because I trust in God and am very grateful for his blessings and that he sent his only Son here to die for our sins, gauranteeing me entry into heaven. I do not consider myself "religious" and I rarely attend church, but I do have faith in God and his promises.

depends on their location.

if you were born in the middle east you most likely would be asking the same question about Allah.

religion is basically determined by what area of the world youre born in.
