From my perspective, I would find it attractive. It would take the pressure off of me to have to ask her out. If I already find her attractive and was thinking of asking her out anyway, her asking me would tell me that she likes me too and she's willing to initiate. I would very much like it.

I think is great and about time. Guys get tired of getting turned down all the time! You ask women to dance sometimes, even to a fast song, and you would have thought you just proposed by their reactions! Many times women are as cruel as men, and you know how little it takes to hurt a guys ego, unless they are in their 20's. Then they just don't give a damn, for the most part!
And no, that is a ritual. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to glean whether a woman likes you or not. It is written all over their body. The same when they could care less!

i am a nice guy (a loser). if a woman were to ask me out, i would say "no", not because i don't like her - i would most likely fantasize about her...- but because i am unworthy of her and would know that she deserves better than a loser like me.

I have never been asked by a girl for a date. I would not think her desperate if she did.

I find it attractive, depending on her methods of doing it. But she is flirting, to encourage.
