I disagree with "here I am". In the bible, it clearly describes jesus as a man with hair like sheeps wool and skin like bronze. They no for a fact that he could never be caucasian, but they don't want to accept the truth. Jesus WAS jewish, but in all actuallity, the original jews were african and arab. Jews nowadays as one guy said are european, and are Not the original jews.

Historical and archaeological evidence shows that Jews in that region were of the Caucasian race. But, why should race matter? The point is, He came, He died, He rose, He ascended, He lives and loves us all very much. If His lineage was of the Black race, this would all be the same (except in theatrical/film perspective, He would be portrayed by Black actors).
There are a bunch of "Jesus" films, however, portrayed by Indians, Chinese, various African peoples, and many others - in order to reach people of other countries and cultures by way of cultural identification.

Jesus replaced right into a Jew and so replaced into white. Or a minimum of Caucasian. Why do people continually call him midsection eastern? there have been multiple communities that made up the midsection east then, as there at the instant are. some darker then others, some lighter then others. The Jews have been and are white.

I think that the man Jesus looked just like the people from His region of the world did 2000+ years ago -from what I understand they were darker complexioned . had dark curly hair and slightly more rounded heads.---
I think you should right about Jesus and cast him closer to what you believe He would have looked like.
If you cast a 'black' man in the part and choose a person who is Middle Eastern looking you would probably be nearer to the correct coloring ---I wish He could have been portrayed as colorless.

Although Jesus was born in the Middle East, assuming that his skin was dark is not exactly right. We have to remember that Jesus was a Jew and that Jews have never been prone to mingle and mix with other races. So due to the almost dessert weather, maybe his skin was tanned by the sun, he was probably not white but he was not black either.

Hi,
Jesus was born through the line of David, which means he was Jewish. Most Jews are of a lighter skin tone compared to say other Middle East people. But if the truth be known....what does it really matter? He could have been Black as coal, or Red as clay, or White as pure snow, but it doesn't change his message one bit. He's still the King of Kings no matter what color you want to paint him!
Peace!

I don't know. Jesus was a Jew and lived in the middle east about 2000 years ago. It seems like a person from, or looks like he is from, the middle east would have a more suitable appearance. Maybe the actors of such an appearance aren't located in English speaking countries, maybe they aren't very good actors, who knows.

I wondered that, too. I guess it's because Michaelangelo's dipiction is the most popular. Seriously, he shouldn't be a Blonde! He should at least be Jewish...
And of course, there is the fact that people like to create God in their own image- so if the producers looked a certain way, theregoes Jesus. It also burns me up that angels are always depicted as Blonde.

does it make a difference?
don't concern about the depiction of the Savior Yahshua by any means. Concentrate on the words that he spoke, the teachings he gave
Mt 19:16-19 "if you want to enter into life, keep the Laws of Yahweh."

If you look at some foreign based films like from the Middle East or Africa, you'll probably find that Jesus is protrayed by other races/ethnicity.
