I am on methadone maintenance aka mmr and I have gallstones. I went to the ER twice and both times as soon as they found out I was on methadone, it was like I had a contagious terminal illness. I haven't yet received the proper care and I am in terrible pain. I need something to take for pain. Can anyone help me with the names of medications that will help me until my appointment with the surgery clinic. I AM MISERABLE!!!!

Urso Forte is used to relieve gallstones. Methadone is used for chronic pain and methadone maintanence. They treat me like I'm on heroin and I have never taken it. I'm on it for chronic pain, so they are ASSuming that that should kill your pain. Ask them for Urso Forte that is what I was on and didn't have to have surgery and got pain relief for that, they are ***-uming that you are looking for drugs.HINT: NEVER EVER go to the ER for pain unless your regular doc tells you to. You need a primary doctor. Any ER --even with my 60lbs of records still assumes I'm looking for drugs. I have had arthritis since I was 3. A different pain pill will not help your gallstones and if you asked for a certain one that may be why they saw you as a drug seeker = the methadone--face it -I know too-it has a bad rep. good luck

I am so sorry to hear that you are being treated this way and that you are getting NO HELP! This really pisses me off, to be honest, as I'm in the medical field. Can you talk to a Methodone Clinic and find out what they can do. NOBODY in the year 2007 should have to put up with this type of behavior. ESPECIALLY when you have gallstone attacks! Is there any way you can @ least get on anti-biotics before you become toxic inside due to this diagnosis? Is there an answering service for the Surgery Clinic you can call? This is not right @ all! PLEASE try to call the places I suggested. Also, a Crisis Intervention 24 hour hotline may help you out. In the meantime, Try taking 800 mg of Ibuprophen, and alternate this with Tylenol extra strength every 2 hours. I wish I could help you out more. Good luck and try these options above. This is RIDICULOUS in my eyes, and it makes me very sad for you. Take care!

you can only take over the counter medications until you get a prescription from a medical doctor. Advil liquid capsules work very quickly on pain. I do not know if it will help what you are going through.

what I do know is when you're having a gallbladder attack eat only fruit, so that you give the gallbladder A rest. do this for three days and afterwards do not eat any fried foods, fatty foods, or spicy foods. Stick to a low fat diet.

I hope you're able to get the proper medication soon.

Billie is right. Advil Liquigels are great. To give you something stronger would support your addiction. Do you plan to have surgery? Soon, I would hope.
