God is spposedly all knowing. Thus He knows all. He knew what people would be thinking about here milleneums later...after HIS word was spread amongst us all.
I'm not anti-semitic. but I must wonder why we hear so much about a "Promised Land" and a "Chosen People" --- If the land is truly "Promised," did God not "promise" other land to other people?
It is difficult to believe that He "chose" Jewish people above all others.
Besides, God only "promised" land if Jews "avoided war and strife".
(and yes I am aware of the Holocaust.)
They have done just the opposite.
If we follow what we are led to believe, keeping in mind that Jews never try to convert others to the Jewish faith, it is as though these people only seek to rule the world.
and so who wrote the books of the Bible anyway? Were Gentiles involved in the wording of verses as relates to the "Promised Land" or "Chosen People"?

I'm not at all "led to believe". That is why I asked the question silly. If the level of the questions are beyond your ability to answer, please then, don't answer.

The Jews were the chose people in the means the Jesus was given to their community as it was promised. The message of Jesus is the same for everyone, even for Jews.

The Chosen People written about in the Bible are the Jewish people.
The Bible is the inspired word of God.
And even if your not willing to admit it you are anti-Semitic.
I am a Christian and even I am offended by the way you are wording your questions.
Are you a Christian? If you are then why don't you know that God wrote the bible through men. And if your not why do you care?
You should be very careful in criticizing the Jewish people if you are a Christian. There are scriptures that speak to that. Look them up for your self and learn what the Holy Spirit is telling you.

The same promises God gave to the Jews he gives to us. The bible should be applied to everyones life nomatter the origin. We all arrived from the nation of Israel, but God promised them certain things b/c of there origin. These are the ppl that walked and talked with God. They were persecuted for there origin and God gives them a promise to stand on. They dont seek to rule the world, they seek for an answer. Many Jews live without Christ in there lives b/c of all the persecutions. And without Christ there is no hope. They were chosen to be the people that Jesus arrives, and the rest of the world arrived from them. They have a big burden to carry and they do it the best they can with all the turmoil that goes on. We have the same abilities to Christ as they do. They just carry it and there the ones it arrived from. And I believe, they will be rewarded 4 that. : )

Well... Noah preached for 120 years... and no other people would choose God... after that - Our Father God was always on the side of Abraham's decendants - because He never goes back on a Covenant that He makes (as the one with Abraham.) They were His chosen because of Abraham.
I found 193 verses on my scripture search engine...
If you believe that God's word is true - as I do, you have to take Him at His word...
If you do not - I know that nothing will ever change your mind.
...Yet, for your consideration:
Genesis 18:17-19 And the LORD said to himself, "I will not hide from Abraham what I am going to do.
His descendants will become a great and mighty nation, and through him I will bless all the nations.
I have chosen him in order that he may command his sons and his descendants to obey me and to do what is right and just. If they do, I will do everything for him that I have promised."
Deuteronomy 14:2 You belong to the LORD your God; he has chosen you to be his own people from among all the peoples who live on earth.
1st Chronicles 16:21-22 But God let no one oppress them; to protect them, He warned the kings: "Don't harm my chosen servants; do not touch my prophets."
Psalm 33:12 Happy is the nation whose God is the LORD; happy are the people He has chosen for His own!
Matthew 22:14 And Jesus concluded, "Many are invited, but few are chosen."
Romans 8:29 Those whom God had already chosen he also set apart to become like his Son, so that the Son would be the first among many believers.
Ephesians 1:4 Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be his through our union with Christ, so that we would be holy and without fault before him. Because of his love...
1st Peter 1:20 He had been chosen by God before the creation of the world and was revealed in these last days for your sake.
Our ways are not God's ways...
I hope these scriptures give you a starting point for continued study.
Peace.

I DO believe the Jews were God's chosen people...but that's not necessarily a benefit. Are the rats chosen to participate in a medical experiment better in some way for having been chosen?
The way it sounds to me (given the valid points you made and what I've read in the Bible) is that God picked one group of people to teach the whole world a valuable lesson. That "...all peoples on earth will be blessed through [Israel]" (Gen. 12:3) is a common theme in the bible.
More broadly than avoiding "war and strife", God promised his "chosen people" (his experimental test subjects if you will) that they would have the promised land (and many other blessings) if they followed his instructions...if they followed God's "law". ...and you are right, repeatedly throughout the bible and beyone, they have NOT (as a group) been able to keep the law. "Woe unto thee O' Israel for you have sinned a great sin against the Lord" is a pretty common theme (e.g., Jer. 13:27).
The fact that the Jews don't try to convert people is consistent with the experimental perspective...a good researcher/scientist would want to isolate the impact of other subjects and factors on the experimental test group (as much as possible) to allow him to draw valid conclusions.
...and the results of this experiment are pretty clear. God picked one group of people and concentrated his attentions on them...he gave them laws, and then more laws, and then more laws to help them live a "righteous" life. He gave them his protection in battle, material wealth, and even gave them physical proof of his existence over and over and over. ...and they could NOT achieve righteousness!!!
Enter Jesus with a message of forgiveness...look at my chosen people, Israel...can't you see that you can't possibly be truly righteous...can't you see that your finite mind can't possibly comprehend the infinite mind of God...can't you see that you can't possibly achieve the level of righteousness required to live in my kingdom? I can give you proof, I can give you my protection and my rewards and you will still make the wrong choices! Perfection can't possibly exist with imperfection for the imperfections pollute the perfection making it also imperfect. You must be "holy", "righteous", perfect to live with God and YOU CAN'T DO IT.
Note that Jesus DID command that people spread his message to all the nations...of course, because without the grace of God and his forgiveness for mistakes, we can't possibly exist with God in eternity! ...and he loved us enough to conclusively demonstrate that to us though the Jewish people. As such, all Christians owe Israel a debt of gratitude for showing us that grace is the only way!

God chose the Jews, the weakest and most vulnerable to show His Sovereignty. Not because he favors one race or religion over another. He has chosen them over all to show that He is who He says He is.

What do you use as the basis for your "belief"?
The Jewish people are God's chosen people. But anyone can be saved by believing that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again. All need to believe that to be saved, Jewish and non-Jewish. Whoever rejects it to their dying breath, will go to hell for eternity, Jewish and non-Jewish.
I am God's chosen because of that, though I'm not Jewish.

Jews wrote about it first. Later Hitler's boys said the Jews were chosen, this time for the camps.
Being chosen is not always a good thing.
