Sounds a lot like thrush. A yeast infection commonly seen in the mouth. You symptoms are textbook for it. It has become more common lately with the use of powdered inhalers like Advair. When using them, you should always rinse and spit afterward. Go see your doctor. There are antibiotic mouth rinses that can easily treat it.

Well this sounds exactly like strep throat. Being that it's the weekend you can't get into a Dr unless you have a clinic nearby.
For the pain, as gross as this sounds, it's a remedy used for many singers....get a little cup and pour one tablespoon of Maalox (acid indigestion medicine) and two teaspoons of liquid headache medicine (such as tylenol or motrin kids). Mix a little and drink. The Maalox will help coat the throat and keep the tylenol or motrin in the throat and ease the pain.
You can also use warm salt water to gargle with but if the sores have opened a little the salt may burn.
As soon as you can get to a Dr do so. Strep is not something you want to mess around with and not treat.
Best of luck...
Prayers.

Strep throat. Cough syrup won't help, you'll need something like a prescription for penicillen from a doctor.

It could also be Scarlet Fever. Don't worry; it's just another word for strep.
