I'm 29 and moving next week from Brooklyn, NY to Encino CA. Can anybody tell me something about the place. Stores? Hangouts? Part-time jobs?Safety? anything?

It's a suburban neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. It's hot during the summer (like all communities in the Valley...). But the beach is about a 30-45 minute drive (Malibu, Santa Monica).
There is a substantial Jewish population in the area, and in surrounding areas like Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Woodland Hills.
Safety: There aren't really any gansters in the area. A lot of Encino is residential and the rest is small boutiques, restaurants, etc. It's a pretty nice part of the Valley with a few celebrity residents. The residential housing is expensive, but there are apartments and condos in the area as well.
Hangouts: A popular hangout for young people is the Sherman Oaks Galleria, which is close by. That's the closest movie theatre to Encino and there are also restaurants and other stores for shopping there. Here's their website:

I'm sure if you look at some ads, you will find a part-time job around the area. There are a lot of openings for part-time jobs in some restaurants, Office Depot, offices, and other places in the area.

It's a nice place, kinda trendy suburbia. Well off jewish people everywhere and tweens showing off their over-priced gear at all the eateries etc. Ventura blvd is the sunset blvd in the Valley.
It will be a big change from Brooklyn, maybe that's what you're looking for. There are a lot of temp agencies in the area on Ventura Blvd. You will need more than a PT job to live in Encino (or anywhere in L.A for that matter). Encino is VERY safe, but the traffic is UGHHHHHH!

Its in the San Fernando Valley. Very hot in the summer. Its about 109 today. But other than summer its a nice city. Lots of shopping malls. All of Lols Angeles is a safety problem, just be careful and use common sense.

Check out the Topanga Mall. There is a really good hot dog place called The Stand. Check out the stoares and shop along ventura blvd from Studio
City to Woodland hills.
