Hello, I have a great technique that I guarantee will help you get a flatter stomach. Infact i have a great technique and a few pointers. Read on.

1st - You need to start strengthening your inner unit muscles of your abdominals. These are basically the reverse side of your abs. So many people do endless amounts of sit-ups and end up with even bigger protruding stomachs because they over develop the stomach muscles. What you need to do is activate the Transverse Abdominal muscles (TVA). This is how its done -

1- take a deep breath in and lift up your chest
2- lift your pelvic floor muscle up (this is basically the muscle that stops you from going to the toilet-its right underneath)
3- imagine you now have a piece of string in your belly button and you are pulling it through your back, your stomach will draw in.

4- let your breath go and start breathing normally but keep the muscles of your stomach pulled in just as if you had a belt on round your waste that was too small.

From this point, try doing some slow sit ups by lying on a fit ball / swiss ball and lifting yourself up. keep the movement slow, you wont be able to do more than about 10 reps if you get it right. do this 3 times per week and i gaurantee your stomach will go flatter as the inner muscles tighten and start to draw everything in.

Next thing, check for anu intolerances in your diet, you may be getting bloatedness or distended stomach because your body is not happy with something, such as wheat, gluten or lactose. try cutting each one out for a few days and see how you feel. Do it by trial and error. I noticed that white pasta is horrendous for causing discomfort in the stomach.

Also, try a detox drink, there are some great detox formulas out there at the moment - ultra life do a fantastic one and it tatses great as well. Apparently we have upto 3kg / 7lb's of waste that we never get rid of and this can be dealt with.

Hope this helps mate.

Andy

Eating every three hours will boost your metabolism and keep it high all day. Don't eat lot, just enough to keep you from getting hungry. This will help burn those last few pounds. Also when wake up in the morning get out of bed and move. Go for a walk or ride a bike. This will train your metabolism to start working right of way and will keep it burning all day long.

Doing sit ups is the best way to tone your stomach. But this only works the muscles internally, you can't convert the under skin fat into muscle. To get rid of fat, the only way is to watch what you eat and drink. You say you don't do much of either and if thats true, then unfortunately, you may be one of the unlucky few that genetically can never get rid of excess fat on their tummy.

I have the same issue! sit ups are good, but make sure u do them properly (look on the net) cause you can damage ur back. Also there are these electronic pad things you can buy or go and get a session of at heath spas etc. They put them on ur body and they send electrical impulses to ur muscles the same as ur brain would do when moving them-making them work out and without u having to do anything! Its called "ultratone" at salons but u can buy home kits too. They are widely available from argos in the uk, and if ur from the usa then im sure u have them cause u guys are always miles ahead of us with cheesy weight loss techniques!

In situations like that, where you aren't overeating, and hopefully eating healthy, the trick is speeding up your metabolism. Going for runs or other excercise can be perfect for that, because your body senses it will need more energy and removes some fat.

Unfortunately, your body also prioritizes the areas of fat it will remove first. These areas differ person-to-person. For you, the section of your body that is least likely to be tapped may be your stomach. This does not mean it will be impossible to lose that weight, just more difficult. It doesnt need to be hard, just eat more complex carbs and less fat, and excercise regularly, and the fat will come off.

DANCE and yardwork and walking. It's worked for me in the past. As soon as I stop, the weight comes back. I cant stick with anything except those two. Lots of water. I'm thinking of taking up belly dancing.

It's a long process. Sensible eating, regular exercise to burn fat, and a little resistance training to tone up. The effects should be noticable to you in 3 to 6 months, if you stick at it. Maybe lack of quality exercise has slowed your metabolism a little.
