No, but that doesn't seem to bother many people.

No. Because Jesus is a fictional character:

Did a historical Jesus exist?
http://www.nobeliefs.com/exist.htm

ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.

Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.

Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Luke 24:25—
Then He said to them: O fools, and
slow of heart to believe all that the
Prophets have spoken!

Mattithyah 7:15-20—
15 Beware of false prophets who
come to you in sheep’s clothing, but
inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 You will know them by their
fruits. Do men gather grapes from
thorns, or figs from thistles?
17 Likewise, every Righteous tree
brings forth Righteous fruit; but a tree
of evil brings forth fruit of iniquity.
18 A Righteous tree cannot bring
forth fruit of iniquity, nor can a tree of
evil bring forth fruits of Righteousness.
19 Every tree which does not bring
forth Righteous fruit is cut down, and
cast into the fire.
20 Therefore, by their fruits you will
know them.

The word tree represents religion as
in Genesis Chapter 2 where we see the
Tree of Righteousness but also the
other religion, the tree of a mixture of
Righteousness and evil.
Abel was a Priest of Righteousness.
Deuteronomy 6:25 shows us that
Righteousness is the keeping of
Yahweh’s Laws. Cain’s religion was the
tree of Righteousness and evil.
The tree represents the teachings of
the religion followed by the members.

This is what the Savior was referring
to when He said, “A tree of evil cannot
bring forth fruits of Righteousness.”
Fruits of Righteousness are keeping
Yahweh’s Laws. Members of an evil
tree must repent and come out from
among them before they can start
bringing forth fruits of Righteousness.

if you love Jesus that much, then you must believe in him enough to let Him into your heart. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." The whole thing about going to heaven is that you accept Jesus and he forgives you of your sins. That is why He died on the cross, to save us from sin. If he didn't die, then we'd still be doing what they did 2,000 years ago: sacrificing a pure animal. But the great part is, that when we say it out loud, that we accept Jesus in our hearts and ask him to forgive us of our sins, he turns to God in heaven and says "This person accepted me today" and all of heaven rejoices because now he gets to spend all of eternity with you! It's an amazing thing, but it takes so much more effort on our part than just loving Jesus. Although that is a great thing to do. You have to be willing to accept him, and to spend the rest of your eternity serving Him. Hope i helped!

Actually it is not just loving... Go do some reseach about Christian theology, and then you can ask stupid, but more informed, questions.

And the whole point of "just" doing as you need to do be saved... the point is that it is by grace. The Christian faith believes in being saved by grace and faith, not by works. So when you askl does it make sense to "just" do this and get this... That is because we're saved not by our works.

But I must add, by the way, that Christians who go beyond the minimum would have it better in heaven than one who believed and yet did very little to show that he/she believed in Christ...

Have you ever gone to a night club where you know the doorman and had him let you in while he is turning others away or making them wait in line? Ever seen a celebrity get in to a "reservations only" restaurant when they have no reservations available because the maitre'de recognizes him or her? When was the last time a total stranger knocked on your door and you invited them in to share dinner with your family?

Makes total sense to me that if God is hosting an eternal party at his place and Jesus is the gatekeeper for God's house, that he would only let people he knows come inside!

That's a lot easier than the other option, actually doing good works. It's easy just to put an "I love Jesus" sticker on your car and believe you'll be all set after death.

Yes, but in loving Him one will follow Him in all His commandments, even unto death. See Mark 14 what Jesus told Peter after Jesus had told Peter that he would deny Christ.

loving jesus mean doing his will and actively living his gospel to become like him and our Heavenly Father. if not this, than it is just professed faith which isnt enough to enter Heaven. Faith without works is dead. If I plant a seed I can love it and believe that it will grow...but will it grow? probably not. What if I nourish it give it water, fertilizer, the proper sunlight....will it grow? To return to live with Jesus and Heavenly Father again is more than just believing in them it is knowing them and living our lives to their gospel standards. Thats what it truly takes to live with God in His Heavenly Kingdom again. Anyone that says its too much, is giving you false information.

Loving Him means embracing His characters, His ways and His teachings. Loving Him promotes spiritual awareness and awareness of the world beyond physical realm. Loving Him would give us a permanent visa to the spiritual world. Otherwise, we are only good for tourist visa - a temporary visit then back to the physical world for another round of karmic life.

Jesus will keep His promise. He will do exactly what He says.

Loving Jesus will take you to heaven if you want to go to heaven. You need to choose.
