So when I first got my cat he came into the house and sprayed along the wall under my kitchen table. We cleaaned it up and had no problems after. Well for 6 or so months he never touched the spot again. but just recently he has been peeing under there. Its really annoying because the only thing that gets cat pee out is that natures miracle and its 20dollars a gallon and it takes like 3 gallons to soak my carpet. So my question is why is he doing this? A friend said that he was in heat... can he go into heat if he is neutered? Do they pee everywhere when they are in heat? He is an otherwise perfectly healthy cat. Any answers would be helpful!

My cat is 5 years old, a boy, neutered and a persian. He sprayed once when he first moved in. Now he is just peeing and only in that same spot. He is an indoor cat only and we don't allow other cats into the house.

Is he neutered? That can cut down on the spraying behavior, but once a cat starts spraying he is likely to continue.
As for why he is suddenly doing it again after six months of good behavior, he's marking his territory because he feels threatened by another cat. It could be a tomcat outside that he never even sees, but he smells the tom's urine.
Your cat isn't in heat, but some female in the neighborhood may be, and she;'s attracting tomcats, and your cat wants to make it clear that your house is his territory and they shoud stay away.
Look for any tomcat markings outside your house and wash them away. That'll help calm your cat.

Is it pee or is it spraying? Because they're two different things.
If you have a male, and the urine is up as high as the height of his back, then that's spraying and he's doing it to mark territory because likely a cat outside got him excited about it.
If the pee was on the floor or 3" up, that's peeing and he's not using his litter box.
Only females can be in heat, it's a cycle that the females go through. Males don't go through cycles, they just respond to the pheromone change in the female cats and try to complete the mating process. But neutered males won't be interested in mating, just making sure their territory indoors is secure.
Have there been cat fights outside that he could hear? Does he see cats walking by and get upset if they're close to the house? These are usually the two trigger things that will make some male cats spray in the house.

Male cats and female cats spray areas for territorial purposes. All cats do this, even on you the owner. If he has been neutered then he should not be looking for lovey dovey. If he pees there its probably because he can smell another scent which is his from earlier that you keep covered up from cleaning it so many times. So the cat goes over and pees on it to mark it as his.

YES! he is in heat. I have 2 male kittens who are in heat and we are getting them spayed next week. They are spraying all over our furniture. We reacently got new furniture cuz it smelled so bad. But we have our new furniture wraped up still waiting till the boys are fixed. So i recommend when you get the money get him fixed. It will keep him out of it and from spraying everywhere. I learned alot for only being 14 years old. I have 8 cats. 4 kittens from the same litter.

Cats try this so as to tutor you they caught something like a prize. it is in actuality requesting a advantages(peting or nutrition) or approval to the dominant animal which for that reason is you. you in all probability bolstered this habit by using doing something the 1st time. case in point many cats in case you have rodents, lizards or bugs will seize or kill them and placed it someplace seen or convey it to you. Cats with doglike characteristics are ones that want to be petted on their abdomen (maximum cats hate this and could attack), in the event that they are domesticated will want to flow outdoors and beg to flow out for a walk, will roll on its back lots, will greet you or wait by using the door once you come again abode, etc numerous the time cats with doglike characteristics are ones that come from 2 strays mating or one cat that has doglike characteristics being the daddy or mom.

I have the exact same problem. I believe the chemicals destroy their ability to detect it as their scent. Therefore, they smell it, but it's unrecognizable. This triggers them to place their scent down.
My cat was neutered at 6 months. I read that a black light can reveal where urine is.

Normally a sudden change in cats toilet behaviour can be indicative of a couple of things...
A sudden change in the house (new arrival, new furniture, upset to his routine, change of litter in tray)
A sudden change outsde ( a new tom cat on the block, a new dog moved in next door thats upsetting him etc)
or a medical problem, often with urinary infections (like cystitus) they will start weeing in places to get your attention - look out for squating without much wee, or pink tinge to the urine
Bicarb of soda can be helpful in neutralising cat wee smells :-)
