would this prevent me, can i get eye surgery at 18?

I enlisted in the Navy, and I'm -7.25 in one eye. I had to get a waiver for it, but that was easy enough.

You'll almost certainly wear glasses in boot camp though.

Here's the vision standards for vision that's corrected by lenses:
20/40 in the better eye, 20/70 in the other.
20/30 in the better eye, 20/100 in the other.
20/20 in the better eye, 20/400 in the other.
Near vision: At least 20/40 in the better eye.
Refractive index cannot exceed plus or minus 8.00 diopters. That's waiverable in many cases. Your refractive index (-4.25) is well inside that standard.

yes to eye sergery and i think you can enlist as long as you wear glasses i think
