I was told that I'd start off at $10/hour working the ticket counter. If I'm with that company for like 5 years, will I get raises?

Also, does anybody work for an airline that has gotten good discounts flying international?

Do you like your job? What airline are you working for?

It all depends on the airline whether you will get a raise every year or not. My airline has been on a pay freeze in recent years due to being in bankruptcy but now people are getting raises again.

We fly basically free on all flights including international. We do have to pay the taxes and airport fees for the international flights though. Of course, we fly standby so we are the last on if a seat is open.

I like my job as it is what I have trained for and dreamed of my whole life.

I dont know about the other airlines, but my friend that works for Southwest (she works at the ticket counter at the airport) says that they get a raise every year. You might be able to find the pay chart and how much raise they get a year. Just go to the airline's website.
