It is Holy because Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, Budhism and many oher sects and sub sects of Hinduism, Islam etc. were founded here. These sects have had theor revered leaders born and in most cases, lived and died in India.
As far as being religious equates to Holy, I disagree. There are many other countries which might be equally or more religious as compared to Bharat but none can match India's contribution in the field of religion

It is holy because there is no possibility of conversion into this and have some Caste, unless you born in the country. Yet it will not reject anybody to be hidu. The Foot Steps of many Temples here have the age thousands times older than many civilisations of the world.

Because Lord chose India to come to earth and show mankind the way of life. There have been so many angels like Lord Rama, Lord Krishana, Shri Guru Nanak Devji and other 9 Sikh Gurus and there have been devotees like Meera Bai, Kabir Sahib, Surdas and others who have placed a devotee on high pedestal thru Bhakti and they all received great love and respect from God. So it is a land of noble souls who have left a mark in the world and paved way for holiness.

In the grand scheme of things, Oli is found in certain countries, diamonds and precious meatls are mined in other parts of the world.
The creator has willed India to be a spiritual mine.
Sanathan Dharma(Hinduism) means without begining and without end! Other religions have appeared and dis appeared in the sands of time. Sanathan Dharma goes through cycles of strong and weak phases. Krishna Says in the Gita that whenever this Dharma declines, God revives it through saints, holy beings or Avatars.
