Emeril Lagasse deserves to be where he is today because of his hard work and effort. I'm sure his dishes are really good. However, I think that his cooking show is boring and doesn't really teach you how to cook. Also, I hate how he always recycles the same jokes over and over again, so I stopped watching it now.

Despite all the catchphrases, TV shows, merchandise, etc etc...you gotta give Emeril credit - he paid his dues. He got to where he is now by working hard, and that's worth something, even if I *do* think his show is cheesy and stupid. Personally I put him in the same category as Rachel Ray - I don't like either of 'em, but anybody who loves cooking and does their best to get other people excited about it is alright by me.

Perhaps - but he is fun entertainment, his restaurant chain is fabulously successful, and some of his recipes are pretty darn good - I just wish he'd drop the olives - I fuggin' HATE olives! And olive oil. Gimme some good Canola oil every time.
