lol, I've lived in the islands, it depends on how and what you cook, for example........ if you took some green bananas, some potatoes, some cassava (yuca root) and some fresh fish and boiled them then poured out the water and eat them, it wouldn't harm you and, might be on the salty side but I think it taste great when you don't have anything else to eat.

All water that lands on land eventually ends up in the sea. The rocks that the water passes through contain minerals (salts) that are soluble. The dissolved salts are transported into the oceans adding to the salt content. A lot of salt that is used today comes from whats left of old seas and oceans when the water evaporated leaving the salts behind. Hope this is useful.

Sea water is about 3 % salt. Your body's normal salinity is 0.9%. Yes, the food would be far too salty to eat. You would become very sick.

I woudn't cook with sea water. It is runoff and sometimes contains raw sewage. Just look at New Jersey.
