I'm going thru a bad bump in my life...too many expenses, mortgage, new business, husband ill, etc... and I started looking for job to suplement but haven't gotten any response.
I had a friend who used to be a proof reader for a news paper check on my resume and she thought it was good. I own a small business and have helped my husband with his manufacturing company for years (we had to close it after 9-11) so I beleive I have all the experience but I feel like not having worked as an employee for some years is affecting my opportunities ..... any comments???

Be persistent, it's tough out there these days. Be sure to apply for specific job openings. Sending unsolicited resumes is a waste of time. Have you tried local stores like Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.?

i'm sorry to tell you that two months is nothing. they say that the average time it takes to find a new job is 6 months, at least. unfortunately the job market is very slow and very difficult right now. just keep trying, and try types of jobs or job sites you might not have looked at before.
