Religion is normally the "system of beliefs" that concerns Spiritual things... so they are related, they just aren't the same thing. =O Someone who knows that mysticism is not = to spirituality =O (It involves spirituality on some levels but it's not the same thing) I think we've reached a new level here folks. I don't know that I agree that they should be separate, because even being in different categories doesn't guarantee you won't get those kinds of answers. Unfortunately. Just have to learn to overlook the nonsense answers (unless they're cute... ;)) Wow, I can't believe we actually got a couple ppl in here that know a little something about Religion and Spirituality outside of Christianity =D

Yes and no.
Generally, mythology is a part of religion. Some of those religions have just died out.
Religion is a part of spirituality. It's just a bit more organised.

Folklore has more to do with culture than religion. Like that one giant lumberjack whose name I can't remember. Paul something. He really has nothing to do with religion, does he? Whereas when Athena came out of Zeus's head is an aspect of greek/roman paganism.

The atheists of course, would be happy if we put them all in the "fiction" category, but we can't please everyone.

" I don't think so. I think most intelligent people not looking to poke fun at those with religious or spiritual believes know what each category is for.

I mean if I wanted to discuss Thor and Zues I bet even you could tell which category that belonged in so those with actual religious or spiritural questions wouldn't have to sift though our converstation. "

Well put and furthurmore i don't think mythology should nessecarily be placed in the "fiction" category iether. in the bible it does mention other gods.

I don`t think so. Folklore is the same as old wives tales. Nothing spiritual there.

Peace & God bless from Texas. <><

No, religion and spirituality have their own forum. Evolution should be in with mythology and folklore and titled "Wild Tales of Ignorance".

I've often wondered why it doesn't go the opposite direction...

sure..you might think religion and myths are the same thing, but for others, we're not in agreement.

(am wondering why...if a person thinks religion is myth, why they go to religion and not myth - see question can work both ways)

What I'd like to see is religion broke down to some more groups.. .. Islam, wicca, atheism, Judaim, christianity, general discussion...

But then again...an atheist going to a religion board makes as much sense as a vegetarian going to the beef-recipe site

yes,to some extent.Mythology is very ancient than folk lore.Religion is code of conduct or Righteousness which shows the path of spirituality. Both the terminologies are inter related and interdependent that is like cause and effect.

Christianity and Judaism? Big time! But real religious discussion, not just insults, should have it's own category.
