Hi! I have been a daily smoker of cannabis for the past 17 years. I think it all depends on how he is taking it. If he is smoking it with tobacco then he is probably far more addicted to the nicotine than the cannabis. I gave up smoking tobacco 3 years ago and whereas before I would think I was craving a spliff it made me realise that it was just the tobacco that I was addicted to. I can now take it or leave it really, and I don't smoke at all, just have it in a vaporiser or a cup of coffee. If your bro wants to quit badly enough then he will, cannabis is not really addictive just habit forming.

Marijuana is primarily a non addictive drug. There are no particular withdrawal effects from abudt stopping of useage. There are varying leveals of psychological dependence. The hardest part of stopping the use of any drug is getting away from the sources of the drug and the places where it is available.

it's more of a mental habit, not an addiction...so once he gets it in his mind that he wants to quit, he won't have any physical reaction to quitting

it wont be easy. hes probably very dependent on it. tell him to think about the bad things when smoking weed. you only get high for like 30 minutes and then you get tired for the rest of the day!
