I just installed our home phone, and already blocked my unknown callers, but I still recieve unknown caller and when I pick up they say they are from "maternal police or internal police" ( sounds something like that), its bothering me. is this just a telemarketer? or something serious? if it is, does the police really calls? or they go directly to your house.pls help! I am pregant and it really bothers me, I cant sleep at night because of this

ok the rest of the conversation wasnt that long, the phone rang, it was UNKNOWN CALLER,(although blocked unknown callers already) I picked up the phone, and they asked for me and I asked them where is it from then they said something they're from "maternal or internal police" sounds something like that, and I pretended that I am not the one they are looking for and I said she's not here, and hang up the phone.But they call me like 6x a day and its scary for me...help!

I know of this cold calling scheme.

This is a telemarketing group that has permission from a rogue chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police non profit organization that has hundres of chapters all over America.. Normally the FOP will not condone this type of solicitation campaign, but all the telemarketing company needs is one unethcal chapter to agree and they use the FOP title as a broad cover for their soliciting.

What is happening is that the telemarketing company calls and says that they are soliciting for the FOP and they would like for you to donate $25 or more dollars and you will receive an "I support the FOP" sticker for your car window. The thought behind this is if you get pulled over and the cop sees this sticker he may be more lenient with you on a ticket.

In reality the FOP chapter only gets 5% of the donation and the production cost of these stickers are only cost them 10% of the minimum $25 donation. So they keep 85% of the money you donated. A very sweet deal for just making phone calls and selling stickers. Not to mention only paying $8 an hour to the callers who are only given phone books and a script to use.

Register with the National Do Not Call Registry and you shouldn't be harassed by these people anymore.

Yes they are, they're people looking for you're money. They want u to give to the fraternal order of police- like a donation. The best thing to do is to tell them to take me off of you're calling list and tell them that I'm broke and am having trouble paying the bills as it is. I know it sounds rude, but these people do this for a living and don't like no, for an answer. Tell them that you are bothering me by calling all the time. If that doesn't work, then call you're phone company and tell them the exact time they called- this way they can look up you're call history. There number may not show up on you're caller Id but it will show up on you're phone company's. They then can block that number for you.

I'm critical while serving to the detailed demands kids I paintings with. But I am significantly enjoying them. They do not wish to be handled as something detailed. They simply wish to be handled like another child. I take that very significantly with a grin and fun and precise love in my middle. Call back the number to see who answers first of all. Don't say anything though.
Another thing to do is to contact the phone company and see if they can possibly trace the number - explain that you are scared and this calling makes you very, very uncomfortable.
If it is not a number that you know, do what I do if they keep calling you. Get a whistle and blow the whistle into the phone - very loudly and long!!!!!
Another thing that I usually say to them - is "If you are going to do this (call me) then at least say something - if they don't say anything I hang up on them.
I have also been known to bang the phone on the counter, sing really loudly, and just generally annoy the hell out of them!!!!!
After a couple of times they will probably give up.

It is most like a telemarketer.. Just ask them to remove you from the call list (fat chance they will) If they threaten you in any way call your local police and report it to the telephone company... Just say not interested and hang up.
You do not need to stress over tis take care of the baby.

Those numbers are dialed at random. They are not specifically targeting you per say, but the telephone number. With the shortage of telephone numbers now, they reassigning numbers much faster than they use to. In the past they use to keep them unavailable for a few months, now its almost immediate. Just tell them that it is an unlisted number and make sure you are registered on the Do not call list.

Call and report this to your Phone company 1st . Then call the Police and make a Formal report with them as well .

sorry this is happening to you, its probably a prank, bunch of dum *** people, try and get a friend to come over, track down the number, and harass them back police will not call and if they do they will not harass you, and if i was important, they;d track you down ASAP and be at your front door, if they continue doing this report this to the cops and let them do an investigation, you CAN PROBABLY SUE FOR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS SINCE YOU ARE Pregnant keep that in mind...
