There would be no way to reproduce with just one man.

Theists are missing the point of the question. Since God is, supposedly, all powerful, he could have created humans to be asexual, with the ability to reproduce with a single "gender". He chose, however, to make two of them? Why?

As an aside, the creation story falls down if even the least thought is given to it. God, according the the preponderance of the theist answers here, created Eve to keep Adam company, not as the second part of the reproductive puzzle. Seems like a happy (?) bit of serendipity, not an intelligent design decision.

Sure God created man before woman, but then again you always make a rough draft before creating the final masterpiece!

P.S. Consider this to be a compliment to women, but I have nothing to do with feminism activists...

GOD created Eve for Adam because he said that it was NOT
good for man to dwell alone. If you had read it, you would
have seen what I just wrote. YES GOD CREATED MALE &
FEMALE! The one FOR the other.

The way I understand it, there were two different stories. At one point an editor couldn't choose between them so he just put them both in, one after another. There are also two different stories of Noah and the Ark.
