I dated a guy for 3 months and then we decided to be just friends. It's been 2 weeks now and an communication we've had has been through e-mail. Should I keep it that way? I myself have always liked it when someone takes time to pick up the phone. Is e-mail the best way or should I try to incrporate the phone into the equation?

The real question here is whether you're trying to get back with him.

If you are, then you should call.

If you're not, then you should email.

If you've been mostly emailing, I would stick with email most of the time for normal every day stuff, but you might try calling occasionally with exciting/important news or when you need to talk to him away from your computer and see how the conversation goes? Does time seem to fly as the topic wanders or is the conversation akward?

After a call or three you should have a pretty good idea whether you want to talk or type in the future.

Well i think a phone call will send a message like "let's move to the next level again". It's like since you have been emailing for a while and wanted to be friends, a phone call will signal that you want to be more than friends again or at least that you are thinking about it!

If you're no longer dating and the only communication you're having with him is through email, then keep it like that. You can email him and ask him what do he think about you calling him and see what he says. Emailing is cool, you can express yourself better without being interrupted.

If you're still good friends and there isn't any tension between both of you. A phone call might be the start to a really good friendship but it could also be a little awkward.

Go ahead, try calling. Do it around 9-10 and just be like hey what's up? How have you been? Just make sure you've got an idea of how to keep the conversation going and it'll be good.

If the "friendship" is truly mutual you should be able to call him. BUT, I would have a legitimate reason for calling - at least the first time - and don't be to pushy. Maybe call for advice on something he could help you with, or call to let him know something simple like - "hey - DirecTV has Showtime free this weekend - thought you might like to know!" But be honest, don't make something up, you will look silly and desperate.

Phone is a loot more personal so if you want your relationship to develop quickly, talking on the phone is the way to go.

maybe start w/ an occasional text message. More personal than e-mail, but less invasive than calling. :) Hope this helps.

If you both cleared the situation, then there is nothing wrong with a simple phone call.
