Why should we trust a creationist presidential candidate?

In a recent presidential debate, 3 GOP prospective presidential candidates said that they do not believe in evolution.

With this self professed eschewing of overwhelming scientific evidence, how are we, as a people, supposed to trust this person to read, analyze and act upon complex geopolitical and national security briefings?

If he cannot grasp something as simple as the planet being more than 6,000 years old, can we trust him with the nuclear football?

Okay, let's see. The guy that is in the White House now has been quoted as saying: "As far as evolution goes, the jury is still out."

I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

I don't care what religion a presidential candidate is. I would hope that they do not force their religious beliefs into politics, or that they wear their faith like a badge, but that might be too much to ask for these days...

But I would NEVER vote for a candidate that believed in creationism and not evolution. Never never never! That goes beyond a nice little religious faith and straight into ignorance and the doom of our country. Speaking of ignorance: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/02/AR2005080201686.html

i don't see why somebody who believes in creationism could be any much less clever than somebody who believes in evolution, while the subject is geopolitical and national protection briefings. What does a individual's very own religious perception could desire to do with national protection, complicated geopolitical briefings, and the nuclear soccer (as you place it)? apart from, the difficulty of have faith is even farther from my suggestions. what number politicians are you able to *extremely* have faith? Are you asserting that a Christian is way less common than an Atheist? extremely the respond of that question will variety from case to case, as each and each individual is diverse, yet usual, the respond is "no." that is extremely not, despite the fact that, asserting that an Atheist is way less common than a Christian; - purely my way of attempting to point out that a individual is purely common by using fact of his or her morals. As jdkilp reported: "i'll vote for the guy who i've got faith may be the suitable in greatest and retaining the rustic. that's what anybody could desire to do." Agreed.

No. We should trust the Son of the Living God, not some politician. Show me an honest politician and I'll show you a person who won't go far as a politician.

They are all politicians and therefore not trust worthy. In spirit or in truth they all worship Janus.

Why should we trust some one who will listen to some one in a lab coat and accept it it fact?

evolution is still a theory. it hasnt been 100% proven. religion is also a theory. none of this matters anyway. the candidates are professional politicians , which mean they are all liars. you can trust none of them. they are in it for themselves, their party, and big business. we take a back seat.

I sure would vote for someone who fears and trusts in God, over someone who doesn't believe in God, and only bases his/her 'beliefs' on mere mankind's theories alone.
