I know what Tex-mex is!
It's a dialect of english that combines english with spanish.
And it's not code switching, that would be like spanglish

from my friends and cousin who live there, i've been led to believe tex-mex is just a combanation of anything southern u.s. (tex) with anything mexican (mex).

this can be food, clothing, language, culture.....etc etc.

what do you mean by "i'm looking for new vocab words"??? it's confusing.

Tex-Mex can also be a way of speaking and is also referred to as code switching, for example, you need the vacuum cleaner. In Spanish you would say ¿Dónde estala aspiradora?, but when code switching you could say ¿Dónde esta la vacuum? Another is the phrase two beers please, however one could also say dos frias, por favor. This means two cold ones, please.
