I'm pretty sure that none of the presidential canidates are openly atheist. Are there any that have expressed atheist viewpoints or given the indication that religion will not influence their presidency?

Im talking about the current canidates.
I don't care about what would happen if one were to say they were atheist, I would just like to know which canidates have NOT made religion a big part of the campaign.

If you mean any of the current candidates, check out this article on the democratic candidates http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/04/AR2007060401989.html They seem to throw around their faith quite a bit, like a badge.
And then there's this http://thegreatrealization.wordpress.com/2007/07/30/new-gallup-poll-religion-will-be-important-for-2008-election/
I am considering for the first time ever since I was able to vote just not voting. Bah

i might vote for whichever candidate has the extra advantageous plan for the rustic. i do no longer enable non secular perception to sway my opinion of politics. I wasn't optimistic who i might have favorite, Obama or McCain, till Palin got here alongside. I advise, yeah, she's a creationist, which exceptionally plenty is going to teach how silly she is, however the clarification i does not vote for McCain is by way of her interviews. She's an imbecile, non secular ideals aside. I essentially wish that Obama wins the election. Even living in Canada, i does not sense risk-free with Palin using fact the vice chairman of the U. S.. i might could desire to pass to Europe to sense particularly risk-free. fairly if McCain croaked in place of work. Atheistically yours, JM Gendron.

"The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity."
"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it." - John Adams.

If any political candidates have any atheist leanings they will not openly admit them when the majority of the voting public is religious.

The only way a atheist will ever be president is if they do as Hitler did and just say they are when they aren't.
