From a purely spiritual point of view, the sun often symbolizes all things masculine, including male deities. Many people often mistake some people who use this symbolism as literally worshiping the sun.

I worship the Sun because without the sun life on earth is not possible. The Sun is a part of God's existence and as the sun gives life to the earth, therefore we are all parts of God's form. God is the universe and everything within it is connected.

I don't worship the sun, however I do worship the Son who is the light of the world. The son of God who created the sun, moon, and stars.

I love the sun, but I do not worship it. I can account for every minute of my day everyday, thus proving that I do not worship the sun.

Yes,

I don't worship the sun.
I kinda like it - and I KNOW it exists (I can see it), but I don't bow down and pray to it.
