Well, I'm atheist, and I have never even thought of sending hatemail to a Christian or any other person of a different religion,its a waste of my time. But the real question is, why do some many christians try to pound the Bible in our heads? Everytime I go to the mall, I see complete strangers preaching to other people and one gal gave me a booklet and said,"Jesus loves you!" I mean, that's all fine and dandy if you wear a shirt that says that and stuff, but down bash it in people's minds. And the other day on youtube, this gal from the Westboro Babtist Church gave me a email saying,"God hates fags! You're going to hell!" I didn;t even know the person. So it looks like atheists are the ones being hated, not Christians. :)

Well, disqualify me because I am agnostic, but I don't send hate mail to anyone
I sometimes give answers that show humor, display the irony or stupidity in the questions, answers or positions posted on this site, but I usually do so in the hope that the answer will actually give someone somewhere a flash of insight or thoughtfulness.
I am equal opportunity that way. I tweak everyone and expect the same from them.

I suspect you have someone going for shock value rather than a true Atheist.
Also, a person such as John, may actually set themselves for the shock seekers. This is his response after picking a best answer:
"I don't think the "atheists" on Yahoo answers
will ever understand Christianity. I am a
grateful and recovering sinner too!"

Whoever told you all atheists are identical in everything they do was lying to you, but then, no one with any more intelligence than a rock would have believed such a stupid claim.
I have gotten hate mail from Christians, should I blame YOU for that?
BTW, if you actually were capable of reading question you linked to, you would have seen that the person said they got hate mail from Christians, too.
Maybe you could ask your mommy to look for reading classes for you to go to.

As that poster mentioned, he suspected that hate mail was coming from atheists AND Christians. Get your facts straight. The truth of the matter is, ther are intolerant loonies in just about every walk of life.

I don't do it, nor do a lot of Atheists. To be fair, I have received more hate mail from Atheists than Theists. Even then, the hatemail I receive is not that bad.

Of course not. Being atheist does not automatically make one a hater of Christians. Disagreement and hate are two completely different conditions.

I don't think it is "atheists" exactly, I think it is just people who hate and who take a position in opposition to someone who has upset them.
Since I am a Christian the opposing position that these nuts took was primarily atheist, but, I can't say that any of them was an atheist. They did not "speak" like the atheists I know personally.

I have never sent a hate mail to anybody. Even when I've received curse-laden emails, I've responded in a nice (but slightly sarcastic) way.
