It says nothing about religion per se, but it says volumes about people who think they are personally in touch with god or know god or know god's will.

Poor mother theresa. She had human doubts and was honest about the lack of direct contact from god. I just wonder if the depth of her doubts made her work in acting out her purported faith dishonest?

At least she was rational. People who think they have a direct link to god are even more dishonest or more mentally unbalanced.

Her letters say that she was often unable to feel God though others could, she was not able.

This is a statement of her humility. She was very humble and did not claim to have any direct feeling of God and felt a spiritual dryness.

This is precisely why she is considered to be a saint. Her actions in the presence of this spiritual dryness makes her a remarkable saintly person.

This is also show that when God moves someon, it is not in their thoughts but in their actions where the presence is manifested. This is a direct physical action of the spirit through a true saint.

If you read any of the real saints you will see that they all share this incerdible humility. St Bernard describes the importance of humility very well. In the end the sain is truly imitating christ, and christ himself ultimately felt foresaken on the cross.

That religion is celebrated by humans, and Mother Theresa was human. Every human has doubt.

As an atheist, I must admit. If every person practiced the essence of their chosen religion in the way that she did, I'd have far less to criticize. Whether or not she ever doubted a particular text passage in the bible, she remained steadfast in her view of her mission of peace on earth. And any thinking person has to be awed by her commitment and sacrafice to the human element of her faith.

erm i dont think it tells us anything about religion at all - rather it points to how even incredible people are as human as the rest of us and that even very religious people can have doubts regarding God in times of stress, sorrow or need.
as others have already said, because of personal experiences, people can often question their beliefs. What is important is that we - and mother theresa - keep our faith through these hard times.

Hello,

Nothing in particular. All of us have our doubts at times from our religion and countries to the work place as well as ourselves.

Cheers,

Actually I would say that admitting doubt is a sign of a better balanced personality. It is the ones who don't admit doubt (or worse don't actually have any doubt) that are the ones who are badly representing.

The bible tells us that during lonely times the Devil will come silently and cause confusion in our minds, challeging us to question our belief in God,but God says that we should be wary of such times and be faithful so we can prevail, even Peter in the bible lost faith in Jesus at one point, everybody does, because we are all human.
