Yes prophets still exist. The Bible says that God does nothing unless he shows his prophets first. A prophets job is to correct, rebuke, and edify the church. Yes, prophets still get visions, they are also called Seers ( a word used in the old testament to discribe prophets), they also see things in dreams, and hear the voice of God. Some of the modern day prophets are Bill Hammond, Kim Clemente, Juanita Bynum, and their are several others, some who are sitting in your local congregations.

i think it is possible for people to become prophets these days. usually prophets were called by God, to go and preach to a nation about the coming wrath of God if they do not repent. Such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, etc. Often God gave them revelation about the future, for example, book of Isaiah is filled with prophecies about Babylonian captivity if the nation did not turn away from the pagan gods. But nevertheless, their main goal was to get it across to the people that they have sinned and need to repent. But keep in mind that Jesus said in the last days there will be many false prophets, and many will follow them. Which is why, i think, Christians are so skeptical of contemporary prophets (if such exist)

This is a generation where false prophets of the devil are masquerading as real prophets to deceive people. For true believers, yes its possible to have the gift of prophecy today.

Visions and prophecies that were to foretell future world events have already been written down. If you are still looking for some major prophecy other than about yourself, you are wasting your time.

There are prophets today among us, many actually but not in the form of prophet as in the books.

The ones today are more messengers on a specific topic. A messenger friend of mine, her message is showing how the Bible and Qu'ran are by the same G_D and how they are the "two edged sword of His logos".

I myself as a messenger am here to teach who the Native Indians were, how they already knew of G_D before white man and are actually the lost tribe of Dan.

Each messenger has a specific task given to them by the Great Spirit. When I have tried to stray from my path to look at say my friends Qu'ran info, I get loud signals from G_D to get back to my own work.

We messengers are creating the puzzle pieces that soon will come together into one huge puzzle of truth. For we each are stripping away the lies as we go with divine insight. In Native Indian terms I am what is called a Warrior of the Rainbow.

Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith YHWH, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no El formed, neither shall there be after me.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith YHWH, I will pour my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

We are at the cycles end, but not the end as most assume. I get visions/dreams all the time since I was touched by the Great Spirit and brought out of the field to begin my work.

Even had a vision of a horse and the horse told me his name. Not being a horse person I took this as strange. But 2 months later I came across this horse, and I found him in the place that his name defined as. He is now with me and we are as one. Just 2 yrs old but does all I ask and is so tame, professional horse people are amazed at him. Only Yah can give such a gift, a gift of a Sacred Dog as the Indians call it. For the horse is a cloud animal, its mane and tail are that of the rainbow.

G_D was giving me my "rainbow" to allow me to be a warrior.

Prophets speak the word of God from God. One of the only ways to receive His Word is in silence and contemplative prayer. However there would be no new revelation as all has been fulfilled in Christ, only a deeper understanding of truth in the deposit of the faith. Through prayer and discernment we fall deeper into the truth and thus can reveal a better understanding.

Is it hard to become a prophet, yes. But it is easy to scam people out of billions of dollars every year, so it is quit easy to make a profit.

They go into trances, and then they prophesy. It's a good idea to record the sessions, because in many cases they do not remember what they said.
Our neighbor, Mr. Gibby, is a prophet; and Jesus talks to him.

I dont know. There are loads of people saying yes and no, and the Bible from what ive read only seems like it could poi t in either dircection. This is from my perspective only. Im undecided, and hace no idea how one could make a desicion without taking a leap of faith on this one, and im not so sure if that leap of faith would be a good idea because of the nature of that office, and what you would be doung.

It's not impossible that Another One will come around one of these days. Nothing is impossible. But that person would have to have a lot of charisma in this age of 15 minute fame and be very convincing about his "product".
