I just bought a home which has well water but a city sewer. The sewer tax bill is separate from my real estate tax bill. Is the sewer tax federally tax deductible along with the real estate tax?

By the way, the sewer bill says the word "tax" on it.

It doesn't matter if they call it a tax or a baseball bat, it's not deductible. It's a fee for a service, i.e. getting rid of sewage. As such, it is NOT deductible on your Federal return.

Are you confusing a utility bill with a tax bill. You may be paying a bill for use of the sewer system that include a utility tax. If so the same tax will also show up on your electric, phone and trash bills.

Doesn't sound like it to me. It appears to be a "tax" for the sewer usage. Normally sewer usage is billed as a percentage of the water bill. Since you don't have a water bill, they are "taxing" you for the sewer.
