ED refers to erectile dysfunction.

E.D. = Emergency Department, since most hospitals have a large unit devoted to emergencies, more properly referred to as a department than just an Emergency Room. ER is still commonly used, however.

Oh, you mean THAT ED. How embarassing. As a male grows older, the ability to have and to sustain an erection decreases. Certain diseases such as diabetes may accelerate the process. So can certain medications, especially those used to treat high blood pressure. It seems that blood cannot sufficiently fill the corpora cavernosa and corpus spongiosum, the structures in the penis that cause it to become erect. So now a whole industry has arisen to treat what is referred to as ED or Erectile Dysfunction.
