What things in the movie ring true about the ghosts' behavior, and what are some falsehoods about the ghosts' behavior?

This is my personal favorite movie of all times. What rings true is the timeless quality of deep, committed love. The scenes of the beach weathering the carved board, and Mrs. Muir's death...with her spirit rising in it's youthful form to rejoin her love. Also, the Captain's first providing for her, then leaving her - out of that love. That is how I imagine the afterlife to be. My husband and I were handfasted last December for this and all other lifetimes. I know of a surety we are destined to be together and we may possibly have been before...we are a prefect fit (neither of us is perfect...just for each other). It took too long for us to find each other in this lifetime. But unlike the ghost, we accomplished finding our soul mate before either of us passed.

What rings false about the ghost's behavior is the noise making, scaring people, etc. He is a crusty seaman, but a good man, so it is almost comical. His kind heart always comes thru.

I own the DVD and watched it last night. Since it is fiction, I would say that it was a fun adaptation as for reality??? Usually Ghosts do not appear to the living except as a mist, misty shape or feeling. They do not converse with people either, at least not like that, and they do not help women write books. Does this help any?

Well, the whole thing is just a fantasy, and BTW I love that movie. So, I'd have to say the behavior of the "ghost" is fine in its context.

It's a very creative romance story, isn't it?

I really hated the Uncle Neddie character....sigh.

Since I don't believe in ghosts - I don't think there are any authentic or inconsistant things in this film. It is fiction.

Mrs. Muir was actually a transsexual. Ghosts don't care.

It was a very good movie! It was make-believe. Just like all the movies about ghost, witches, vampires, wolf men, zombies and monsters are!

It's a romance film, not a documentary, love.

But, your spelling in this question is excellent!
