My nephew is VERY bright and at one time wanted to get into computer gaming design... Now I'm noticing that he is picking up his father's lazy ways. His dad doesnt work and does nothing but play video games and watch dvds all day. (My sister has a very good paying job)

Now he wants to put off college and try flipping houses. This is not a viable career move because in our area and many others, there are more people fallling into the foreclosure trap than actually purchasing houses....

Help!

P.S. He is a whiz at a science and math...

I really agree with you that you do have a problem. It is very bothersome that your sister has allowed her son to grow-up with a lazy bum for a father. Your nephew is only following after his role model. Too bad that he couldn't have used your sister for his role model, but that isn't the way it happens with boys. Does your sister appear to want to do anything about his lack of ambition ? It is admirable that you care, but until your sister acts concerned, there is very little you can do.

Let him make his own choices. If he falls, he will learn how to rise. -Everything will be okay. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Have faith and say a prayer for him instead. Know that he will try different things and that is a part of life. He has to find his talent(s) for himself. Be supportive in what he does instead of knocking him down and please don't label him or judge him because of who his father is.
-Good Luck and God Bless.
