I have a Fujifilm Finepix S6500fd Camera and have a memory card installed. However I cannot find anywhere to tell me how to safetly remove the card from the camera. The last time I just took it out it corrupted all of the pics on it. I have reformatted the card but now have new pics which I cannot remove by uploading onto the PC at present as I am on holiday and need to change the card for an empty one. Help!

Just make sure the camera is switched off before you remove the card, should be fine.

First be sure to turn OFF the camera cause most of them don’t have a Plug and Play feature where in you can just remove or insert the memory anytime while the camera was turned on. For S6500 , Turn OFF camera before opening the slot cover. Do not open the slot cover while the camera is on. This could damage the memory card or corrupt the image files in it. To remove, push the memory card into the slot and then slowly remove your finger. The lock will then be released and the memory card will push out. That’s the time you take off the card. Hope this helps.

Turn the camera off first. Never remove or insert a card with the camera on. Then just press it down and it will pop up for removing.

The most important thing is to make sure the camera is turned off and that the camera isn't writing to the card. You should then be able to swap the card without corrupting the photos.

1) Make sure the camera switch is in the OFF position

2) push down on card and let it spring up to release it

3) pick end of card up with finger tips

Unless you're using cheap non-Fuji or Olympus xD cards (apparently there are a few fake ones floating around on eBay), you shouldn't have any trouble
