actually, when dieting its better to drink a glass of water before eating if you are hungry. something like 75% of the time you think youre hungry you're really just thirsty and your body cannot tell the difference. but i guess its better to eat before you're starving not hungry so you won't over eat.

I read in the Parade in this mornings paper that if you get too hungry you metabolism isn't working at it's best. They said to eat 5 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones.

thats why you have to eat 5-6 small meals a day.
when you are already hungry - eat as soon as possible.
plus - dont look at diet as something you "go on and off" - its a way of life and you should make a commitment eating healthy for the rest of your life.

It's like shopping right before dinner.....you will buy more if you're really hungry. If you eat before you are at your hunger peak, you are bound to eat slower....which means you will also eat less.
