You should follow the cleaning instructions in your camera's user manual. If you don't have the manual, check the manufacturer's website, as most have online versions that you can download (most require Adobe Acrobat, which is a free download; the camera website may even give you the link for it, but most computers already have it installed).

GENERALLY speaking, you should use a chamois cloth or lens tissue or cloth handkerchief (you can buy these from virtually any general goods or dollar store; avoid using any paper product, including tissues and paper towels) that has been SLIGHTLY dampened with WARM water (NEVER use ammonia or alcohol or any other fluid). Use GENTLE side-to-side strokes in a single direction on the screen (i.e., don't go back-and-forth and don't use a circular motion). If you don't have a cloth or water, and it's an absolute "emergency", feel free to use your CLEAN AND DRY finger, using the same side-to-side motion.

And, the easiest way to keep you camera clean in the future, is to avoid grease, smudges, and fingerprints! ;)
