Both my brother and I have KC and have undergone cornea grafts? Do they have a time limit? I had my graft in 2002 - will I need another graft? My brother had his graft in 1996 and his vision had deterioated? Does this mean he will need a new graft? What can help with KC - any new treatments? thanks

Your brother needs to ask his doctor why his vision is worse and what can help. Might need new glasses or new contact.

Usually grafts last for life unless there is a severe rejection. The only reason to redo a graft is if the first one rejects. During rejection the eye will be red, sore and vision will be extremely blurry.

There are no new treatments for KC, rigid contact lenses for most cases and corneal graft for the few very severe cases remain the treatment options.
