Neither side can be proved.
When one realizes that, then they resort to silly insults.
That is when it becomes a worthless activity.

Is sitting around all day saying God IS real when you can't prove it a worthwhile activity? However, the contemplation of the existence or lack there of, of God is. Just ask the great philosophers

Is sitting around all day saying God is real when you can't prove that a worthwhile activity?
Two questions, twice a waste of time?

I don't know anyone who "sits around all day" saying God isn't real.
Most people I know have jobs, families and other activities.
Anyway, anyone who sits around "all day" and says 'God isn't real" is engaging in an activity that is as worthwhile as those who sit around "all day" and say "Yes he is".

Since nobody has ever proved the existence of God or any other deity why should those who don't believe have to prove anything? Extensiev research has failed to reveal the author of any religious texts or writings, or prove authenticity. Personally my faith is in Science and Humanity.

It depends. If it makes someone (or me) think, then sure, it's worthwhile. No-one can prove 100% conclusively the existance or nonexistence of a deity. Does this mean we shouldn't discuss it at all?

of course it is. now before you go getting all sanctimonious, let me play devil's (no pun intended) advocate here. is not the act of sitting around saying god isn't real when you can't prove it the exact same thing as sitting around saying god is real when you can't prove that either? it is only your belief that makes one worth more than the other.

Those that make a claim must provide the proof of their claim. It is not my responsibility to disprove anyone elses claim. If I told you pink unicorns existed you would demand proof from me. It is that simple

I don't think anyone sits around all and says god isn't real. That’s as bad as sitting around all day and praising god.
