if you like the actual skating, but not testing and competing, you could continue to take lessons and skate recreationally. you don't have to test or compete if you don't want to. but continuing to take lessons is a good idea if you want to keep learning new things to do. maybe you should talk to your coach and to your parents about your goals in skating-- whether you want to test and compete or just have fun on the ice.
hope this helps and good luck!
(btw, I don't like tests either :)

If you do not enjoy testing and competition then go ahead and just keep taking lessons, but do not compete and test. You can still enjoy the sport, but do it as more of a recreational enjoyment. You may decide otherwise when you get higher, but if you don't there are many people who do it as a recreational enjoyment. If you do not enjoy lessons as much they go ahead and quit lessons, and just skate in public sessions. Good luck!

I adored skating and did it since I was a child. For fun - not to compete, although I did train to speed. My mother took all the certs and ended up pretty qualified as a dancer. Couldn't stand all that prancing around. Do what you feel is the most enjoyable part of the whole sport and just enjoy.

Ice Skating is one of my favorite sports too. Keep practicing and you will do great. It is a wonderful exercise, and it will also make you feel so good about yourself; inside and outside.
However, if you feel that Ice Skating is not your specialty, then they are other sports that you can try out for.
Be super duper great in EVERYTHING that you do, and always believe in yourself.

duh, you should!!! i mean, you should be proud that you get to compete and stuff like that!!! all i do is take lessons for each level, and i know i learn everything in ice skating that way, but i still would like to show it off to other people than just my family and friends!!! so all i'm saying is that keep doing it!! and think of the skaters less fortunate (me)!! lol, jk! but still be proud you get to show your skating off!! ok! :)
