Not necessarily, because it isn't Islam itself that's causing the problem. There's far too much greed and corruption and political messes in the "Muslim world" which is the cause of all the problems we have now. It has nothing to do with religion unless those who have the power to do bad things want some sort of excuse to try and legitimize what they're doing. People don't let them get away with things because they're claiming to be following the tennents of Islam, people let them get away with what they're doing because they don't want to suffer from the hands of these people for standing up against corrupt leaders. You've seen what Saddam did to people who opposed him. That's the most obvious of examples. However in Islam, it is not only a right, but a duty to fight oppressive and unjust rulers. The brave who *did* fight him, well, we're still finding their gravesites.
I think the reason people are so quick to point the fingers to religion is because it's the most obvious difference between "us" and "them." We like to look for the easiest way to make sense of something, so we say religion. But if anything other than personal greed and lust is to blame, it would most certainly be politics. I mean, come on. If Saddam was REALLY that religious, would he hire constant streams of prostitutes and alcohol for his sons?

Muslim Religion is a religion that requires its adherents to kill infidels, so if by liberal islam you mean that they could only kill other sects of Muslims that would be a great start. Then when the last sect was standing the rest of the world could scare the two of them into behaving like civilized human beings. The Muslims have no concept of being civilized human begins. They are unsocialized misfits from a bygone age, Descendants from the illegitimate on of Abraham and a slave women. That is a good reason not to have slaves. Or conversely a good argument for abortion, if Abraham had ordered the slave to abort Ishmael then the bastard child Ishmael would not have been born and Mohammad would not have been able to introduce the world to the Bedouin moon god allah. And the Jews would not have lost so much of their land to the dog of Ishmael. I want to state that before 9/11 I had never givne much thought to Islam, after my intro to Islam on 9/11 I have become a major supporter of Israel and their need to be free in their own borders and I believe the only way to do that is to cleanse the Middle East of the plague launched by Abraham and Hagar.
God Bess Israel. I favor a Muslim Free World. Do you?

Absolutely NO. In fact the Koran is very clear about how to react to the non-muslim environment and a detailed analysis for Islam will defenitively shows that Liberalism doesn't exist in ISLAM. Someone could find some beautifull verses about freedom in Koran but looking further will unveil the fact that those verses where canceled by another verses in the Koran itself.
Muslims are our brothers and sisters in humanity, but Islam does not seems to be from God.

yes, but the fact is that they are not liberal, and trying to "liberate them" will never work, only cause more chaos.
Why not stick to Pope Benedict´s solution, of returning to our own roots before engaging the Muslims (because according to him, what the radical Muslims feel threatened by is not Christianity, but rather an overpowering secularism of western culture).
ps: When the Barbarians approached Rome to mark the begining of the Dark Ages, the citizens went to the Pope as a last resort. He told them, ¨If we have a friend like Jesus Christ, we have nothing to worry about¨, and so Christianity survived.

It is a big problem. Jesus seems to have left nothing in writing. It is most likely that he did, but that it was destroyed for being too full of doubts and questions.
Islam has the problem that too much is in writing and it is very specific on how to judge and punish behavior in the 6th century.
The problem is that it is the 21st century and Islam is in danger of being frozen in time, really old time.
It seems unlikely that any one person or group will ever be seen as having enough authority to make any meaningful changes.
Islam might be regulated to just the poorest, most uneducated masses and countries.
We will see.

First of all, if you read some of Luther's writings, he was more extremist in controling poeple than the Catholics. He did, however, object to the corruption within the church, and rightly so. Unfortunately his early writings seem to belie his own free thinking.
I don't believe there will ever be a "reform" Islam. Many of Mohammeds writings are dark and history is obscured as to the real spread of Islam and the crusades. Allah is not a God of love as Christ taught of the Christian god. What religion rewards men by forcing virgins into sexual servitude in the afterlife? Some of these concepts are so perverted. I don't see the extremists in the middle east ever being willing to compromise on anything. Maybe here in the US, but I don't believe a reform religion would be accepted in Iran, Iraq, etc. These people hold 1000 year old grudges and hate each other and everyone who is not like them.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/CjR6l

The Muslim World is in crisis because it lacks LEADESHIP...
There is NO Unity at the present stage. In the Days of the Caliphate, there was ONE VOICE to represent them.
The problem of extremism is NOT ONLY due to WRONG interpretation of the Quran. It is two-fold.
1) Mainly it is the negative tactics of the Bush Administration and the FALSE accusations of the BIASED media.
2) Secondly, once the fuel is added from the Bush administration and the Media, the uneducated Muslims are mis-lead by IGNORANT bigots who for THEIR own PERSONAL gains, EXPLOIT the situation in the NAME of ISLAM.
So if we CORRECT CAUSE # 1, we automatically ELIMINATE the Cause # 2
And as i said, even today if we Muslims get leaders like Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Harun Rasheed, Salahuddin Al Ayyubi (Saladin) we can change the entire world.
NOTE: All the above Leaders were the MOST JUST, HUMBLE and TRUSTWORHTHY of their times.
A TRUE Muslim will SAVE the World, NOT destroy the World...
The World today needs another Umar or Saladin to save itself.
PEACE Be with You...

Where do you get your information from? Very few Muslim countries adhere to strict interpretation of Islam. If you don't believe go research it. Religious authorities don't control any country (maybe one exception is Iran). There is nothing that can be called liberal Islam. If it exists it cannot be called Islam anymore. I don't think we need liberal Islam but the dictatorships are the ones that are controlling everything and some of their actions cause the few extremists or terrorists. I think going back to the original Islam under Shari'a laws is the best way to go.

What do you mean of liberal Islam...? Islam is Islam only and there is no any liberal Islam or moderate Islam.
There is a huge misconception prevailing in west that no muslim can ask any question about or against Islam. In everny muslim country and every where any muslim can ask any kind of question about or against Islam without hesitation from muslim schollars and always they get very satisfactory and logical answers.
