I think it is, because it requires you to move the entire body, and your heart rate and breathing increase significantly. If you can do it for more than 10-15 minutes, then you definitely have something that will burn off fat.

The secret to cardio exercise is actually to keep your heart rate in the moderate range, which for most people is in the 110-140 beats per minute (50%-75% of the max bpm). That's when body uses fat as fuel most efficiently. If it's any higher than that, your body uses carbs or protein as fuel. If your hulahoop gets your heart rate to that range, then it's just as good as jogging or biking.

sure it is, but you have to do it for long periods like an hour to really get the effect. It works the waist area mainly. We used to hula hoop when I was a member of Curves minutes fitness.

It may or may not be a cv exercise but it definitely is a good exercise to keep one's waist under control and in good shape!

it sure is! its gets your heart rate up
its a form of exercise so it will help you lose weight
its also good for your back muscles

You'd probably have to do it for 13.6 years and not eat anything but it is cardio so it would work ...eventually...
