Corrie Ten Boom?
http://www.heroesofhistory.com/page59.html

She struggled with her faith in her "flesh and in her feelings" but she remained firm in her faith. She was delivered from death and she has an amazing testimony. Maybe Mother Theresa would have struggled less if she was free to just trust God and not have to concern herself with the churches wishes all the time? Just a thought. Please check out Corrie Ten Boom's testimony if you really want to know some truth about God and his heroes.

That is a good site you shared with us. Thanks.

Did you know that C.S.Lewis and Corrie Ten had a terrible time with forgiveness of the nazi's. Corrie, of course, as she was in a concentration camp and they murdered her sister. And C.S. because of the commandment to forgive enemies. Both came to a point of forgiveness; and were more complete as a result of it.

I believe that 'the church' and her mission for it, is what (in part) helped Mother Teresa make it for 80 years without "feeling" a presence of God. Many of us don't get to 'feel' the presence. Feeling and emotion are very weak barometers of Truth. Just as 'we've always believed this way' and 'it stands the test of time' are. But Teresa, by sheer guts and 'head faith' went through this world - living by her lights ( and the church made it possible, for her to complete her mission.) By the way, she was a 'Chosen woman' meaning, a pioneer, who's victory over her lack of 'feeling a presence' condemns those who reject Jesus/God "because I didn't feel a thing".

Corrie Ten Boom is a good story but don't confuse it with truth. While the events may have occurred, the religious spin she puts on them is superfluous.

Acually talking about Swedenborg and the Universal Theology of the New Jerusalem is a better conversation than trying to guess someone's "salvation status."

Is one persons testimony really any better than an others.
One is delivered from cancer, another from booze, but all are delivered that seek our Jesus Christ.
Just a thought.

Mother Teresa taught the Gospel by living it:

He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.' Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?' And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?' He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
