it will be right in a few days - just the after pain of being tattooed - just enjoy your new tattoo and try something to take your mind off the pain

Well I ain't no doctor, first of all the skin around the ankle is a little thinner and there is some fat around it but not much. Second the tattoo artist might have hit a nerve ending and slight possible a vein (lets hope not) that would cause the bleeding.
Check your ankle and look for any possibility of any redness surrounding the area of the tattoo (and they do get red around the outside that's why he or she tells you to keep the area clean and wrapped, but you know that since this is your forth one).
My suggestion is that if it doesn't stop hurting with in the next 2 days you should go and see your doctor but if the pains starts getting more intense get to the emergency room right away infection might or may be settling in

it's not infected. the ankle is painful because of all the bone and not much flesh between the skin and bone. keep it elevated for as much as possible over the next couple of days. also you can get an ice pack and wrap it in a cloth and put it on the tattoo and that should help with some of the pain. you can also take an asprin or something to help with the pain.

I also have one on my ankle, hurt like a ***** for about 4 days. Standing , walking made it hurt worse, but i had to go to work. Anyway, you'll be fine. Just keep it up if that makes it feel better, and PLEASE use A and D ointment, vaseline is the only thing that you never ever put on a tattoo, it draws out the ink. After 3 days use unscented loition. Good luck to you! Fiancee' tattoo artist and i have 10 and counting.

I have one on my ankle also but it is bigger then your just keep it elevated like you have been. You can also make a small ice pack and hold it on there gently after you bandage it. It should also help with the swelling. Good luck

Just apply a light layer of A&D to it, cover it with a bandage untill the blleding stops, take asprin for the pain, it hurts because it is on a sensitive area near a bone, give it a few days and you will be good.

It's close to the bone, thats all. If you went to a different tattooist, he might have had a heavier hand. But ankles hurt, period.

Ok, A and D ointment clogs pores and slows the healing time so it WILL hurt longer. Dont use! You should use a none scented lotion. It does sound like its infected and you need to think about the person that did your tattoo. Did they use new or used neddle. If it was old, then you should get it looked at.

I think you should get it removed. It is probably infected or something.
