I sometimes go when I'm cycling in the park to listen to the entertaining idiots. As an expression of free speech I think it's great, but it's a pity that nobody sane ever goes. It's kind of like the Internet, really.

It is perhaps the greatest free speech institution known to man ( although it is ruggedly not an institution) The authorities do not control it, in fact there would be a riot if they tried to and the only condition is that you do not incite violence. I enjoy the good sense spoken the barracking and the rubbish opinions It is perhaps the best training ground anywhere for a public speaker. It is the Ox-bridge of oration

I used to see them mostly at weekends, but pretty much every day however I haven't seen anyone there for years. Of course I could just be going at the wrong times.

Been once or twice over the years, quite a good place to air one's views, though I'm not sure that it's not more of a tourist attraction these days.

lts unique and has been going on for many years.Right up till the l995 The best known speaker LORD SOPER used to gather very large crowds
and he was an exceptional man of quick and accurate thinking
He spent most of his time answering all sorts of questions.
ln fact Einstein and Jomo Kenyatta were regular members of his
audience.Somebody observed him for 40 years and never known
him to fail to answer a question on any subject. Even Albert
Einstein could not fault him.

Is it still going on? I thought the old tradition had died out. Yes, long may it carry on - true democracy. If I lived in London I would certainly go.

Went there fairly often in the early eighties. Great fun if you don't take it too seriously.
