You say I am not Jewish because i believe in Jesus. Thats so rediculous. That is like saying " if you believe in Jesus as an african then believing in Him makes you no longer African ". What kind of logic is that ? Im Jewish and believing in Jesus makes me a completed Jewess. P.S. Im not a Messianic either...I just believe in and accept Him as my Messiah. Isaiah 53 and Isaiah 9.

People are close-minded HYPOCRITES. They want to believe that a Jewish girl Can't believe in God. They want to believe that Ghosts don't exist. They want to believe that only white people are racist. The list goes on and on. It's ok for them to Believe whatever the hell they want but it's not ok for you. Close-minded, stubbornness is what keeps the world what it is.
It's not realistic to be original or unique and it's definitely not accepted or tolerated. I don't follow trends because it's been made one of my life's missions to BE different from the likes of the 'followers' I'm a capricorn anyway so I'm a leader not a follower.
My advice to you is defy them. It's likely they're not worth the space they take up. It's ok for them to believe that a Jewish person shouldn't believe in Jesus but it's not ok for a Jewish person to believe in something simply because she's Jewish.

That is a poor analogy. That is because the definition of an African means a person who comes from the continent of Africa. Belief in Jesus is a Christian religious belief. One is someone's birth origin and the other is religion.

On the other hand, to be Jewish does involve religious beliefs, namely Judaism. And since you have renounced Jewish beliefs and adopt purely Christian ones it would be helpful if you called yourself Christian.

Here is another analogy. There is a man by the name of Conrad Black. He was a Canadian but he renounced his citizenship so he could become a lord (as in, the House of Lords in Britain). He is not Canadian anymore.

People say that because they look at Jews as being Jewish as in the religion.

But I certainly don't think that and have had Jewish friends that turn to Christianity and accept Jesus as their savior. But they are still Jews.

A messianic is, by definition, someone who identifies as Jewish AND xtian. So by your own statement, YES you are a messianic.

I'm not saying you're NOT a Jew if you believe in Jebus- I'm saying you're a very bad Jew and an outcast. THAT is your choice.
But you CANNOT identify as both and be considered legitimate under Jewish Law.
Who are YOU to question or contradict centuries of Rabbinic thought and decision making???

Someone who throws away her heritage because of a DREAM??

it is a travesty.
I do hope you rethink this.

If you are Jewish and believe that salvation comes through Jesus Christ...... "the Messiah".....you are in fact a "Messianic" Jew.

I consider myself a former Jew because I have chosen to follow the basic tenets of the Christian faith. Therefore, I have left my Judaism behind me. But that is the way my heart and head think and feel. If you want to hold onto your beliefs and awareness of yourself as a completed Jewess, then by all means, let NO ONE and NO THING take that sense of completeness from you. It is your RIGHT to FEEL as you do. Always honor yourself in that regard.

And to "Sweetheeb" -- perhaps it is you who should consider looking beyond the tradition of your religion, and take a look at a greater picture presented in a sense of spirituality. You are limited by traditional dogmatic teachings. There are those of us who have read other books, other teachings, who have dared to explore beyond the limitations set by our parents, and we have found Love. We have found our own sense of Faith. And through this, we have a greater sense of who and what we are in this Universe.

Read the old testament and really take a look at the part where God tells the Jews that they are no longer His chosen people because they are filled with greed and avarice, and how He will deny all tribes save the Levites, whom He will save, and how He will welcome the Gentiles as His people instead of the Jews.

If you believe in your faith so strongly, then you should consider being baptized. It is the logical way. It is what God asked of us.

Peace.

EDIT: Sweetheeb -- Not a major in comparative religion? Oh. I see. So my researching countless religions and coming to a decision based upon the truth I found on my personal journey makes my choices invalid? Oh. Forgive me, oh great "minor in comparitive [sic] theology." I did not realize I had to have a degree to have a truthful spiritual relationship with my sense of Source. I did not realize being book learned had more value than personal research and experience. My bad.

Mea freaking culpa.

You are Jewish and you are a believer, nothing can change either two of those. Don't care what other people think, follow you're own beliefs.

They say that because alot of the jews rejected him, Not all Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah. You are a Jew who is a Christian and nothing is wrong with that. God bless

Because people don't understand that being jewish is not only a religion, but a racial/cultural thing. You could explain that and answer a lot of misconceptions by people who don't realize that.
