Surprisingly, the easiest way to chase that "hungry" feeling away is to DRINK something - fill yourself up with a glass of water...

Or at least use it to take the edge off - and dive into a healthy snack ;););)

If you're "starving", that's the exact reason that you can't lose weight. Our bodies haven't quite caught up with the luxuries of the present time, they still operate on a very primal level, which means that they worry about starvation. When you start eating less food, it triggers your body to go into starvation mode, which means that you begin holding onto all of the fat and calories that you take in. So while you may think that you're helping yourself to lose weight by dropping from a normal amount of food to almost none at all, you're actually sabotaging your own efforts. If you want to kick your metabolism into high gear, you need to start eating 3 solid meals a day (biggest meal first, smallest meal last) plus at least 1 snack per day, and stop eating altogether 2 hours before you go to bed. Add in a 30 minute workout a few days a week, and you'll see results soon.

Best of luck!

Starving yourself is the WORST thing you can do if you're trying to lose weight. Here's why:
You are telling your body that you are starving, so your body will conserve all the fat that it gain, to prepare for survival.
The key to losing weight is exercising and burning more calories that you take in during the day. That makes a calorie deficit. Your body, in a calorie defecit, will burn the fat that it has stored for energy. Exercise and diet are the only way.
Don't believe any of the commercial garbage out there. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. But I'd call it too bad to be true.

Don't go for low fat snacks - go for NO FAT snacks. For example, celery is negative calories, because it takes more calories to digest that it provides your body. That doesn't mean eat a ton of celery all day. You need balance.

If you are cutting back on your calories so much that you are truly miserable, that diet is probably going to fail. There are a couple of ways that you can diet and not feel hungry. One is to cut back to three small, but nutritious (coming from all the food groups) meals a day along with two to three reasonable snacks. You could also cut back to six very small meals a day. Stop frying, and start baking, grilling, and broiling. A general rule of thumb that I use is something green, red/orange, and yellow on my plate. This usually gets me three healthy veggies. If you are going to eat white/pale yellow foods (potatoes, pasta, rice), eat a very small portion and don't add anything to it like sauces and toppings. For snacks try those 100 hundred calorie snack cookies, chips, Quaker rice cakes (the buttered popcorn are to die for), fruit cups, healthy harvest no sugar added applesauce (the blueberry and strawberry are delicious), jello, yogurt, small amount of dry roasted nuts, veggie sticks, fresh fruits. A snack should not be more than 150 calories. Something I try when i feel like i'm going to eat my own hand is chewing a small cup of ice or two sticks of suagr free gum. Filling up on water helps too.

For a start, if you are trying to lose weight, don't get to the starving stage - it just makes your body hang onto fat more! Also - think low GI (ie burns slower keeps you fuller) AND low fat plus vitamins - my best bet - a banana on a slice of wholegrain bread! Yummy!

protein snacks will make you feel full... I usually keep a myoplex bar around when I start wanting to eat bad, it is almost like etaing candy but its good for you and it will make you feel full longer than carby snacks. or eat cottage cheese and fruit, thats a good option :)

a papaya, or pineapple. You can also do this: eat low fat popcorn(which will soften the fat tissue), and then eat watermelon, which will flush it out.
